Stormwater Letter

We wanted to update you on the ongoing drainage and water collection issue behind Knightwood near the creek bed and natural area. We have reported this stormwater drainage concern to the City of McKinney, and they have confirmed that the affected area is a utility easement. The city’s stormwater engineers will assess the situation and determine who is responsible for addressing the issue.

One possible solution under consideration is adding a trench to properly direct the water. This will be the responsibility of the utility company or the developer, as the developer remains responsible for 2 years after construction. The HOA should not incur any expenses related to the remediation.
