Letter for Safety

Published: December 11, 2024

With the Holidays approaching and school out the activities outside will be increasing as well as the safety concern for all homeowners. “No Playing in the Streets” city rule means no residents are allowed to play games or engage in recreational activities on public roads due to safety and traffic concerns. The reason the City has this rule is to prevent accidents. As you can imagine this is a safety concern and places the HOA in a vulnerable position for legal action. The streets are maintained by the city and not covered under HOA policy. The city ordinance would apply “cannot play in the streets or divert traffic without the proper police barricade”

The traffic blocking the streets on Hollandwood Drive and Darlington Way is also a concern for safety. The cars have blocked traffic flow and illegally parked. During the sunset hour drivers are blinded by the sun and can not make out people darting between cars to retrieve a ball or expect cars to be illegally parked.

Consider playing sport activities in HOA areas away from the street and walking to the destination. This will help prevent a possible accident.

I wish you all a Happy Holiday and New Year!
